Everyone wants to go outside and explore the world but rarely do people sit down to explore their inside world.
I think you could spend years in your head, discovering new things.
It's unbelievable how much power you get from knowing who you are.
Once you understand your strengths, weaknesses, what you like and especially what you don't like. You're able to make decisions that align with them or improve upon them.
In contrast, if you don't know yourself, you'll just jump from job to job, from partner to partner or hobby to hobby. What's even worse, is that some people just stick with it, because they think it's the "right thing" to do, or they don't see any other way.
Now there is nothing wrong with gathering experiences, but if you don't analyze the input that you're getting from these experiences, to reveal what's inside of you. In terms of "Yes - I like this!" or "No - I don't like this!" Then you're just wasting your time and energy and the time and energy of others.
So many people walk around and never took a long, hard and honest look inside of them.
No wonder that they're unhappy with their jobs, because it's the wrong job, or they're unhappy with their relationships, because it's the wrong partner or friends.
However, you can always start to find out who you really are and live with it, or improve upon it (character development). Clearly, it's a process and addintionally a very hard one, but if you don't figure out who you are.
Then you're doomed to live a life that isn't meant to be lived by you.
So remeber what Socrates said: The unexamined life is not worth living.
Now go out there and figure out who you are and what you want.
